THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT

Live in Melbourne - FORUM THEATRE

31/08/2019

The anticipation was palpable. It was a late winter Saturday night in Melbourne and a sold out Forum Theatre was salivating at the thought of seeing THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT in full flight after a long 11 year hiatus.

THESE FOUR WALLS and HAMMERS were brilliant as opening acts, serving to whet the appetites of a crowd, hungry to once again experience a concert from the Brisbane quartet, with a well-deserved reputation for delivering an amazing live performance.

When Clint Boge (vocals), Glenn Edmonds (bass), Kurt Goedhart (guitar) and Ben Hall (drums) finally hit the stage, it was like meeting up with an old close friend that you haven’t seen in years. The songs were familiar, the band was on fire and the crowd LOVED it! The intense and dramatic lighting production provided the perfect backdrop for a powerful yet emotional collection of songs, delivered by a band still very much in its prime.

This was the final in the run of five shows for 2019, which saw the band play to packed audiences in Adelaide, Fremantle, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. With a new album expected to be released in 2020, THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT does not look like returning to that 11 year cocoon. But for now, we wait…
